The experiece will give you the opportunty to taste 4 different types of wine of the tuscan region including CHIANTI, BRUNELLO, and SUPER TUSCANS. You will also be served a main course, a VIN SANTO and a special olive oil to taste.
Arrive at TINO Caffè in Via della Scala 55 (close to the train station). As you will enter the place, you will be greeted by our staff and led to the wine tasting area. Our trained sommeliers will then start to give you some information on how the experience is going to be divided in more steps.
2 WINES, APPETIZERS AND OLIVE OIL:
You will first be served a tray with bruschetta, a selection of cheeses, typical Tuscan prosciutto and salami and will in the meantime have the opportunity to try some cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. During this tasting you will learn about how the olives are best handled during the season, taken from the trees and transformed in premium olive oil. Also some tips on how to best store your bottles of Olive oil in order for them to preserve their organolectic qualities longer. Starting from younger red wines you will learn how to best taste a wine and what are the secrets behind the different flavours and smells and refraction the wine generates inside the glass. As you taste the wine you will also learn about the process of "vendemmia" and will be able to see where the grapes you are tasting come from, and why the location is so important in a place like the Chianti region.
2 MORE WINES AND TINO CARBONARA:
Our special TINO Carbonara pasta will be served along with two other types of wine which go together well with the flavour of the sauce. Our pasta (or the cereal soup alternative, for vegetarians and vegans) has a full and rich flavour which will be needed for these much more special and deep Tuscan wines. Your sommelier will show you the differences in the aging of the different wines, and how it affects the final tasting experience, as well as how different the accompanying food should be, in order to best taste them. As you finish the tasting of the wines you will be asked to choose the one you liked best, to try another glass of it.
VIN SANTO:
One last tray of special biscuits, to be tasted together with a very famous sweet dessert wine of our region. The Vin Santo. Our staff will tell you the whole history of how this special liquor is made, but stored in the exact opposite condition of our most tradonal chianti bottles. This to ensure a much sweet and long lasting product.
At the end of the tour our sommelier will be happy to answer all your questions about our wines, and clear any doubt about the history of this amazing tradion. Don't miss your chance for a wine experience like this one, right in the heart of your city. Join us!
