Your Italian culinary immersion begins in the afternoon or evening in central Florence, depending on the session you select. The class begins with an introduction to pizza in Italy, from its long history to its different regional varieties.
Once you’ve learned all about Italy’s favorite dish, don your apron and hat and get cooking. Class sizes are kept small, so you receive personal attention from the chef. Learn how to make your own pizza dough from scratch, knead the dough, prepare traditional tomato sauce, and select your own toppings.
As the dough rises, you also learn how to make gelato—Italy’s answer to ice cream, famous for its rich, ultra-creamy consistency.
End your class with a meal: Eat the pizza you made from scratch and enjoy gelato for dessert, plus glasses of wine or soft drinks. A recipe booklet is also included so you can try out your new skills upon returning home.
