Explore the Oviedo Lagoon, one of the biggest treasures of the Jaragua National Park and home to a variety of wildlife. The Lagoon consists of 24 islands of different sizes and vegetation and is considered to be the best place for aquatic bird observation on the island. Discover the beauty of the Oviedo lagoon on a boat ride through this unique ecosystem. Make a stop on one of the many islands, so called Iguana Island. Go on a hike across the small island through a somewhat barren landscape where cacti dominate the scenery. Once you arrive on a scenic outpost take some time to appreciate the beautiful view over the lagoon, the Caribbean Sea, the Jaragua national park and the mountains of Bahoruco. On the way back to the hotel you make a stop in Los Patos where you can take a refreshing dip in the river. The cost of lunch must be covered directely on sight and are not included.
