Fantastic Creatures of Edinburgh, and where to find them!

An outdoor fantasy treasure hunt for the curious!

Our magical class will walk you through the Old Town streets identifying and learning all about the fantastic creatures that inhabit them.

You will need a team of 2-4 wizards, internet access on your phone, your eyes and legs! We will provide the kit. The game takes around 2 hours. It covers a good portion of the historic Old Town and lots of folklore.

Your host will meet up with you to provide instructions and will be in touch via WhatsApp throughout. You will then explore the city following the clues that will take you from one spot to the next, unravelling the secrets behind the faerie folk.

It should take you around 2 hours to complete the game, but this may vary slightly depending on the group's speed and how quiet or busy the city is on the day. By joining you are agreeing to take care of the kit and return it at the end. Come prepared to walk.

A fantastic way to see the city. A classic treasure hunt with a twist that will have you interacting with your surroundings whilst learning about the traditional beliefs of Scotland and the world.

You will be given a map and a textbook. In this magic field trip on the fantastic creatures of Edinburgh you will be spotting what's often overlooked, reading maps, solving little riddles and hopefully finding the last unicorn. Good for magic apprentices of all ages! families, couples, tourists and locals alike.

The duration is an estimate and varies a lot between groups but after 3h you may have to return the kit, so don't plan to take long breaks along the game. This game is played with the kit provided but you will need a charged phone with internet access to check your answers and be in touch with the host in case you need help. It involves walking, reading and some puzzle solving. It finishes a 10minute walk from where it starts.
