Depart early from your Dubai hotel and journey to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve by a private climate-controlled 4WD vehicle. En route, hear about the Emirati passion for falconry: a Bedouin technique where birds were used to hunt desert animals for meat.
On arrival, take a wildlife safari through the dunes, watching for oryx, gazelle, lizards, and more, and learning about indigenous plants.
Next, enjoy a private falconry experience. Meet falcons, kestrels, and other birds from a family collection and take an active part in a training session. Wear a glove to let them fly and return to your hand after collecting bait, and watch demos of training methods, such as the use of drones. Finally, return to Dubai.
Alternatively, if you’ve upgraded, continue to the stunning Al Maha Desert Resort for breakfast (see Itinerary) overlooking the dunes. Whichever option you’ve chosen, your tour ends with a hotel drop-off.
