Discover the unique beast that is Koenji with one of our friendly hosts by your side. Removed from the central crush of people, Koenji is Tokyo’s former punk neighborhood and still contains many relics from the 80s pre-boom Japan. Wander this retro area, visiting Shinto shrines, shopping at curio stores and snacking on the readily available street food (yakitori is our personal favorite). You can also enjoy some music with your host at one of the famed ‘live houses’ in the area, sipping on a craft beer whilst you get to know each other. Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.
