Best known for it’s beautiful mountainous landscape, highlighted by the vibrantly green rice paddies, thatched across the valleys. The largest ethnic group here is the ‘White Thai’ whose descendants are from Thailand, as seen by the Thai stilted houses that the area is well known for. The houses that sit on stilts are protected from flooding and dangerous animals as well as offering the livestock a shaded home under the house.
