Explore and Discover Barbados By Land & By Sea

Summary

After being picked up from your Barbados hotel or cruise ship port, set out to explore the island’s East Coast. After a quick stop to take in the views from Cherry Tree Hill, visit the historic Morgan Lewis Windmill, the island’s last remaining sugar mill, where you can watch a sugar grinding demonstration and sample a glass of sweet sugar cane juice. Continue along the coast to Bathsheba beach and admire spectacular views across the Caribbean as you watch the surfers taking to the waves. Next, stop at St John's Church, a 17th-century Gothic style church located in a stunning cliff-top setting, affording impressive views along the coast. Head towards the West Coast, passing through St George’s Parish on the way to Bridgetown. Then, spend time exploring the Garrison Historic Area, part of the Bridgetown UNESCO World Heritage site, and learn more about the island’s colonial history and independence. For lunch (included), tuck into delicious Caribbean cuisine at Copacabana Barbados restaurant, located right on the beachfront. After some free time to relax and enjoy the beach, set out on a scenic boat cruise around Carlisle bay. While on-board, keep a look out for sea turtles and other marine life, then prepare for a thrilling wildlife encounter. After a safety briefing and instruction on how to swim around the turtles, dive into the ocean to swim and enjoy a closer look at the wild sea turtles. Swimming will be accompanied by a guide at all times, and there will be no contact or interaction with the sea turtles to ensure that their natural environment is not disturbed. After returning to shore, your driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel. Please note: Washrooms, and freshwater showers are provided at Copacabana Barbados – please bring your swimsuit and beach towels.
