Overview
The Wilderness Lodge at Sethan is a quaint traditional wooden cottage which gives a feel of village stay with comforts of a toilet, a bukhari (tandoor) in each of the four rooms for warmth and a common balcony and a kitchen. The apple orchard around the cottage lends a serene and scenic area to relax and unwind. While you lounge on the hammocks and camp chairs you can breathe in the beauty, indulge in photography, watch the yellow billed Magpies & the verditer flycatcher go about their daily chores. Depending on the season you can try your hand at gardening, vegetable or apple picking a walk through the terraced fields, watch out for bears, foxes and porcupines.
While lazing at the lodge a few activities like slacklining, dart board, carrom, Golf putting, strumming the guitar or trying a tune on flute a can keep you engrossed and amused.
In the evening the a bonfire and or barbecue with dinner maybe arranged under the starry sky.
Sethan village where the cottage is located is a tiny village of the Nomadic Khampa tribe with just a few houses and families engaged in agricultural activities. Five kilometers ahead of Sethan is a mini Hydropower project (Allain Duhangan) at Jobri.
Located at an offbeat place, the attractions here are - the views, the walks, the small hikes , cycling, night treks , birdwatching, wildlife (bears , porcupines, fox, flying squirrels, hyenas), the cliffs, snow walk, down river walk and such like.
