We begin Everest Base Camp Trek with a short domestic flight to Lukla from where we rely on our own feet for the rest of the journey. From the very first day, you will get to taste the intoxicating blend of mountain views and the local Sherpa culture. Nights will be spent mostly in lodges and enough time will be allocated for acclimatization whenever great significant altitude shift is involved. You need not necessary climb Everest or any other mountain for an adventure experience—you will realize at the end of this of this trip. Everest Base Camp Trek follows the Dudhkoshi River (upstream), passes through Dudhkoshi Valley surrounded by Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru peaks, the colourful Namche Bazar and Tengboche and finally ascends to Kalapatthar, the highest point on our way. In addition to Mt. Everest, the Lhotse-Nuptse Wall, Ama Dablam and Kantega are the major attractions in this tranquil region. You will also have the opportunity to explore the Mountaineering Museum in Namche Bazar, witness mountain life in Khumjung, and many monasteries, lamaseries, and temples during the trip, including the famous Tengboche Monastery. ITINERARY FOR 13 DAYS EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK: Day 01: Kathmandu - Lukla 2840m (flight 30 Mins) - Phakding 2610m (trek 4-5 Hours) Our guide will pick you up at 5:30 am and drive to the airport. You will board the early morning flight at 6:30 AM and fly to Lukla (2750M) in about 45 minutes. After breakfast in Lukla, we will walk for about 4 hours to Phakding (2610M), a fairly plain terrain inhabited by Sherpas. Afterward, we will follow upstream Dudhkoshi River and spend the night in a lodge. Day 02: Phakding - Namche Bazar 3440m (trek 6-7 Hours) We will trek for nearly 7 hours to reach Namche Bazar (3440 m), the famous town in Solukhumbu. The last 3 hours of this trek will be tougher, but the beautiful sceneries on the way will make you will forget your tiredness. The night will be spent in a local teahouse. Day 03: Acclimatization Day To help your body adjust with the high altitude conditions, we will spend the day for acclimatization. You can do some daytime hiking and explore Khumjung village , Everest View Hotel, Syangboche Airport and return to the teahouse at Namchebazar for the night stay. Day 04: Namche Bazar - Tengboche 3860m, (5-6 Hours) After a 6-7 hour trek, you will reach Tengboche (3860 m), a perfect viewpoint to observe beautiful peaks of Moutnt Everest, Ama Dablam and Thamserku and a greater part of the Himalayan range in the Khumbu Region. Highlight about this village is Tengboche Monastery. evening overnight at Local Tea House. Day 05: Tengboche - Dingboche Dingboche (4250 m) lies at about a walking distance of 6-7 hours. Due to the increasing altitude, you will be walking slower than on previous days. Day 06: Acclimatization day in Dingboche This will be the second acclimatization day. You will be taken on a day trip to Chhukung Valley and back to Dingboche. Rest and rejuvenation are quite essential to continue the trekking the next day. Day 07: Dingboche - Lobuche Our next stopover is Lobuche (4950M), at about a walking distance of 5-6 hours. Views of Mt. Pumori and Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse and many more are the main highlights of the day. Day 08: Lobuche - Gorak Shep - Everest Base Camp and Back to Gorek Shep The next segment of your trek, Lobuche to Gorek Shep (5160 m) is short and can be completed in about 3-4 hours, just in time for lunch. After resting for a few hours, we will take you on a walk to Everest Base Camp in the evening to sight the beautiful sunset over the majestic Himalayas. Then we return to Gorek Shep for the overnight stay. Day 09: Gorek Shep - Kalapatthar (Sunrise View)- Pheriche You will begin hiking (about 2 hours for Kalapatthar) early in the morning to Kalapatthar, lying at an altitude of 5550 m, this is the highest point you will reach in this Trek. This is well known as a perfect viewpoint to see all major parts of the Himalayan range, including Mt. Everest itself. If the weather permits, you will get to see a spellbinding sunrise, something you will not find elsewhere in the world. Take as many photographs as you like and go back to Gorek Shep for breakfast. Shortly afterwards, you will descend back to Pheriche for our overnight stay. Day 10: Pheriche - Tengboche Trek for about 6 hours and spend overnight at Tengboche. Day 11: Tengboche - Namche Bazar Resume trekking for about 5 hours and arrive at Namche Bazar for the night’s stay. Day 12: Namche Bazar - Lukla Trek down to Phakding for lunch and continue walk to Lukla for overnight, which normally takes about 7-8 hours walking. Day 13: Lukla - Kathmandu (flight), transfer to hotel. Farewell dinner in the evening. Fly back to Kathmandu, where we will transfer you to your hotel. GUIDELINES: Documents required: scanned copies of passport sized photo and passport of each participant travel insurance Fitness Level: This trip requires you to be in good health and physically fit. So, we recommend thorough physical examination before you start the trek. Skills: Your familiarity with the mountainous terrain and previous trekking experience will be plus points. Travel Insurance: Make sure that you are insured against cancellations, accidents, health, emergency evacuation and loss, theft of, or damage to, baggage and personal effects. In emergency situations, we will arrange for a helicopter rescue, medical treatment and after care for you. All these costs shall be borne by your travel insurance company.
