Entoto Mountain Guided Day Tour from Addis Ababa

Be ready for pickup at your Addis Ababa hotel at the agreed-upon time. Climb into your tour vehicle with your driver and guide, then set off on the journey to the bottom of Entoto Mountain. Travel the rest of the way up the mountain through a combination of driving and easy trekking, where you find the Entoto Mariam (St. Mary) Church and Museum. Explore the historic church with commentary from your guide and enjoy photo-worthy views over the city of Addis Ababa.  Continue to King Menelik's Palace, husband of the founder of Addis Ababa. Learn about the personalities and preferences of Empress Taitu and Emperor Menelik through touring the palace.  Head out for a long walk to the St. Elias and St. Raguel churches, stopping at various viewpoints along the way to rest, take photos, and learn about the area from your guide. Back in the tour vehicle, head for the Yaya Athletics Village, where some of the country's best athletes train. Opt for a traditional Ethiopian lunch in the village (own expense) and choose to taste some of the area's famous honey wine.  Following lunch, tour around the village and the local communities before heading back into Addis Ababa for drop-off at the conclusion of your tour.
