Just a short ride north and over the Swiss border you’ll enjoy the fairytale Swiss backdrop of typical Ticino country homes and villages as you navigate along the crystal-clear Verzasca River. As you pass the Verzasca Dam, your driver will point out the famous 220 meter drop where scenes from the James Bond film Goldeneye were shot.
At Lavertezzo, home to the postcard-perfect Romanesque stone bridge where you can see locals and tourists alike jumping off the bridge into the stunning emerald waters of the Verzasca river. Relax in the crystal clear waters or head further into the Valley for lunch in one of the most charming villages in all of Switzerland where local artisans, brewers and cheesemakers comprise some of the 87 residents.

At just 196 meters above sea level, Ascona is the lowest-lying town in Switzerland, enjoying mild weather while being often surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
