After a morning pickup from your Reykjavik hotel or other designated pickup point, board an air-conditioned coach and head for the horse ranch just outside the city.
Get introduced to your trusty steed and learn all about the Icelandic horse, a small but sturdy breed brought to Iceland by the Vikings. The famously 5-gaited Icelandic horse is also noted for its good nature, making it an ideal ride for first-timers and pros alike. Afterward, get back aboard the coach for a journey to the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park, site of the first Icelandic parliament and home to the “rift valley,” where the continental plates of North American and Eurasia meet.
