SuperSaver: Small Group Silfra Snorkeling and Lava Caving Adventure

Make your way to a designated pickup point in central Reykjavik, where you climb aboard a climate-controlled minibus for the journey to the Raufarhólshellir lava tunnel. Learn more about the geology of the area while getting fitted for your caving gear. Follow your guide to underground lava fields and climb through a lava tube. Marvel at layers of rock and lava deposits in one of the most active volcanic areas in the world.

After a lunch break (at your own expense), head to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Listen to a quick introduction to the park and grab your snorkeling gear.

Continue to the Silfra fissure, which lies between the tectonic plates that separate North America and Eurasia. Put on snorkeling gear and a drysuit to explore the underground pool. Your guide takes you to the pool’s most scenic areas.

Finish the daylong adventure with a drop-off at the departure point.

It is recommended to bring warm outdoor clothing, packed lunch, thermal underwear, a change of clothing, towel, gloves, hat and good hiking shoes
Please note that the order of the itinerary can be altered by the operator if deemed necessary.
Wear glasses?: Since you'll be wearing snorkeling goggles to see underwater there can be nothing in the way of the seal therefore you cannot wear glasses underneath the goggles.In this case, contact lenses or your own prescription goggles are recommended.
Requirements: Must be 12 years or older. Guardian´s approval needed for minors under 18. Weight limit: 45-120kg. Height limit: 150cm – 200cm. Must be able to swim.
