Your tour begins with pickup from your Reykjavík hotel. Settle into the air-conditioned bus for the drive south, passing through the countryside to Skogafoss waterfall.
After snapping some pictures of the thundering 200-foot (60-meter) waterfall (seen in such movies as The Secret Life of Walter Mitty), it's time for a lunch break (own expense) at a local restaurant.
Fueled up, you'll travel east to the black-sand beach of Reynisfjara. Admire the stacks of basalt columns that wall off surrounding cliffs and watch the powerful Atlantic ocean waves crashing onto the shore.
Head back west to Seljalandsfoss waterfall, a 197-foot (60-meter) wall of water that you can actually walk behind—waterproof clothing is recommended. On a clear day, you'll also see the Hekla and Eyjafjallajokull volcanoes and the Westman Islands just offshore. Then, you'll settle back into the bus for the journey back to your Reykjavik hotel.
