Start your tour with pickup from your central Vienna hotel by private vehicle. Set out through the Austrian countryside and admire the views as you cross the border into Slovakia and head to Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital and biggest city, perched on the banks of the Danube River.
Meet your local guide and embark on a walking tour of Bratislava’s main attractions, starting with a visit to the medieval Bratislava Castle. After taking in the views from the hilltop castle, stroll around the cobbled lanes of the Old Town, where the pastel-painted houses and pretty medieval squares offer plenty of photo opportunities. Stop to take a peek inside St. Martins Cathedral, renowned for its exquisite stained glass windows; marvel at the modern National Theatre; and pose for photos with the ‘Cumil’ statue, then climb St. Michal’s Tower for another great view over the Old Town.
After the tour, enjoy a few hours of free time to continue sightseeing independently, browse the shops for souvenirs or stop for lunch (own expense) at one of the many cafés and restaurants.
If you’ve chosen the one-way option, your tour ends in Bratislava and you can make your own way to your hotel. Alternatively, depending on the option chosen, return to Vienna by private vehicle or ride back to Austria on the train or ferry.
