Set up in 1849 and ended in 1943, the Former French Concession in Shanghai was one of the earliest foreign concessions in China. It is also one of the best reserved former concessions in China. The plane trees on the sides of the roads show you the romance of Shanghai. The old Western-style houses are fashionable restaurants or bars nowadays. A walking tour in the concession lets you soak up the romantic atmosphere to the fullest!
Our walking tours include the highlights below:
The Cathay Theatre – Opened in 1932, the Cathay Theatre is renowned for its red bricks. It is one of the earliest theatres in China.
Huaihai Road – One of the most prosperous shopping streets in Shanghai. It enjoys a reputation of the “Oriental Champs Elysee”.
Sinan Road – Around 20 foreign-style houses were built on the Sinan Road in 1910s. They reserved very well.
Tianzifang – It consists of hundreds of small lanes, where you may easily get lost, but our tour guide will find you a way out. The coffee bars and artwork shops may make you unwilling to leave.
