Description

Discover Niagara-on-the-Lake through its most iconic flavors on this private food tour. With a dedicated guide, visit six local businesses to taste the dishes that define Canadian cuisine - from sweet maple syrup and classic butter tarts to savory poutine and world-famous ice wine. Along the way, learn the stories behind each bite and the traditions that shape the region’s culinary identity. This private experience makes it easy to ask questions, dive deeper into local culture, and enjoy each stop without feeling rushed. With enough tastings to replace a full meal, it’s an ideal way to explore the town while sampling its most beloved specialties.

Begin in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake with a visit to a local maple shop. Here, you'll enjoy an exclusive guided tasting to introduce you to Canadian maple syrup. Paired with a sweet treat, this first stop gives you a deeper understanding of one of the country’s most iconic ingredients. During your private tasting, there’s time to ask questions and savor each bite.

Continue to a historic bakery to try a classic Canadian butter tart, layers of flaky pastry with a rich filling. As you eat, your guide will share stories of the town's history and local traditions.

Next, enjoy a curated charcuterie board featuring Canadian cheeses alongside fresh fruits and accompaniments. This savory stop highlights regional ingredients and craftsmanship, offering a balanced tasting that complements the sweeter flavors experienced earlier.

Then, dive into another savory staple with a serving of freshly prepared poutine. Crispy fries, warm gravy, and cheese curds combine in a dish that reflects the comforting side of Canadian cuisine.

The experience continues with a tasting of Niagara’s renowned ice wine, where the winemaking process and unique climate conditions are explained in detail. Finally, end at a local fudge shop to watch the preparation process and sample a freshly made piece.
