Meet your host Reshma, a welcoming host and local food professional who loves feeding people, in her beautifully decorated apartment in Santacruz in North Mumbai. After a refreshing drink, join Reshma in her kitchen and learn to cook a traditional Maharashtrian thali, truly regional cuisine! Learn to cook 2-3 regional dishes such as pandhra rassa (mutton and creamy coconut milk soup), chicken masala or a seasonal vegetable, typical of what her family eats every day. You will plate it on a thali (traditional round steel platter with little bowls) and enjoy your thali meal that will include the dishes you helped prepare as well as additional dishes that Reshma has prepared in advance. Your thali meal will feature a masala (spice mix) called ‘tikkat’, which comes from Reshma’s ancestral place in Kolhapur. End your meal with shrikhand, a sweetened yoghurt dessert and leave with your belly full and heart filled memories of an immersive cultural and culinary experience!
