The Pirates and Privateers Cocktail Tour is historically accurate cocktail tour that explores the history of piracy and exploration in the city of St. Augustine.
Your tour will begin at Ghost City Tours Storefront where you will receive and introduction to the tour.
You will then make your way to No Name bar where you will have the opportunity to purchase a drink and hear a story about a man with no name, known as Blackbeard, who was a privateer during the War of Spanish Succession, or Queen Anne's War.
Next, you will walk over to Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse where you'll discuss how the Siege of St. Augustine, led by Sir Francis Drake, during Queen Anne's War destroyed much of the city.
You'll journey along to Trade Winds Lounge where you'll have another chance to purchase a drink, and you will discuss the Age of Discovery.
You'll move along to the St. Augustine Sea Wall where you will learn about the history of the St. Augustine Sea Wall that has been protecting the city of turbulent waves for well over 300 years.
You'll then have the opportunity to purchase and enjoy another drink at the Tini Martini Bar. Here, you'll discuss the first free black community in North America that was lead by Francisco Menéndez.
You will then head over to Meehan's Irish Pub & Seafood House where you will be able to purchase another drink, and you will discuss a pirate named Robert Searles.
You will wrap up your tour at the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument. At this stop, you will learn about the Castillo de San Marcos that was St. Augustine's answer to the endless raiding the city endured during the 16th and 17th century.
