Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
The tensions of this world are becoming less and less the closer your plane gets to Kathmandu. You grab a drink on the plane and slowly start to unwind. As you gaze out your window, the ground starts to rise and you see the snowcapped peaks of the Himalayas. There is nothing quite like this anywhere in the world. The pure white peaks touch a deep blue sky to make you sit up and smile. The plane touches down and you exit, breathing in the pure mountain air. Pass quickly through the airport where you soon meet your representative of Himalayan Planet Adventures. He takes you to your four star hotel to relax. If time permits, your driver and guide will take you to the little village of Kirtipur on the banks of the Bagmati River. The village is built on a high hill with a beautiful temple on top. From the hill, you can see the snowcapped peaks. Afterwards, come and enjoy a welcome dinner where you will meet the staff of Himalayan Planet Adventures. Enjoy traditional Nepali food as well as a cultural program before returning to your hotel for the night.

Day 2: Sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley
There are lots of sightseeing options in the Kathmandu Valley. Larger than the country of Singapore, it features seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Choose three of them and you’re off for an amazing time. There are ancient palaces to explore, mystical temples and narrow streets where craftsmen work as they have for centuries. Your city guide will explain to you the history, religion and culture that make the valley as unique as you explore. In the evening, you will return to your hotel for the night.

Day 3: Travel to Chitwan National Park
Chitwan National Park is located in the Terai region of Nepal. This is the very northern tip of the plains of India. This is the home of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. It is also home to wild elephant herds and the endangered Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. The journey leaves the Kathmandu Valley only to descend into the Trisuli River Valley. This wild river is world-famous for whitewater rafting. We leave the mountains to come to Chitwan National Park. After you check into our hotel, attend a Tharu cultural program in the evening. This is home of the famous stick dance which never ceases to amaze those who come to watch. Travel time to Chitwan is around six hours.

Day 4: Exploring Chitwan National Park
Wake up to the sounds of jungle birds chirping in the trees. Chitwan is a different world, yet very much a part of Nepal. Take an elephant safari to look for tigers and rhinos. In the afternoon, float in a dugout canoe down the Rapti River as you look for crocodiles and wild birds which abound everywhere. Relax in the evening, watching the sun set over the plains. It’s been a wonderful, relaxing day.
Day 5: Travel to Pokhara
It’s back to the mountains today as you leave the plains of the Terai and head north to Mugling. This town is the junction point. The car turns west, following the road all the way to the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara. On a clear day, you can see a variety of snowcapped peaks to the north. We arrive in Pokhara and check into our hotel. There is time to walk to Lakeside District to enjoy the late afternoon rays of the Himalayan sun. There are many wonderful restaurants to choose from. Travel time is 6 – 7 hours.

Day 6: Explore Pokhara
Pokhara is a delightful city. Rise early in the morning to watch the sunrise over the Annapurna Range from Sarangkot. You have command of the car, so you can choose your activities for the day. Go to the Buddhist Peace Pagoda for an amazing view of the region. Explore museums. Take a relaxing boat ride on Lake Phewa. Visit the Tibetan Refuge camp. Day 7: Return to Kathmandu
Most people travel by bus to Pokhara, and the buses all leave at 7:30 am. You don’t have to leave that early! You can spend some time exploring around Lakeside before you have to leave. It takes around seven hours to drive back to Kathmandu. In the evening, you check into your four-star hotel for the next two nights.
Day 8: Exploring the Kathmandu Valley
Having a car at your disposal is the best way to enjoy the Kathmandu Valley. You can choose your day’s activities, and there is so much to choose from. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Discover some of the lesser known temples and sights that the Valley has to offer. Maybe even take a short hike if you so desire.
