Select a morning and afternoon departure time and get picked up from your Santiago accommodations to start your trip. You’ll continue by subway to the Quinta Normal metro station.
Start your excursion by visiting Santiago’s Barrio Yungay neighborhood, one of the most historic in the Chilean capital. Founded in 1839, this charming area offers a mix of unique architectural sights. You’ll also have time for a quick stop at Parque Quinta Normal.
Then head inside the ‘Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos’ (Museum of Memory and Human Rights) as you learn more about Chile’s turbulent years under the military regime of General Pinochet. Built to commemorate and document the victims of human rights abuses committed by the Pinochet government between 1973 and 1990, the museum features a serious of sobering exhibits that help put this sensitive period of Chilean history into context.
At the end of your museum visit, you’ll return back to your Santiago hotel via public transit.
