Your tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Punta Cana in an air-conditioned coach. Travel about two and a half hours to Santo Domingo, the oldest city in the New World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On arrival in Santo Domingo, explore the underground caves used by the indigenous Taino Indians at Three Eyes National Park. Stop at the Columbus Lighthouse, and then travel to the Colonial Zone, a walled 16-square-block historic district with many firsts of the New World such as the first cathedral, university, and hospital.
Visit the Columbus Palace, home of Christopher Columbus’ son Diego, and walk along Calle Las Damas, the oldest paved street in the New World. Stop for a traditional Dominican lunch and then visit the National Presidential Palace. That leaves just enough time to pop into a souvenir shop before heading back to Punta Cana to end your tour.
