Your morning begins with pickup from a convenient meeting point in downtown Reykjavik. Meet your guide and settle into the air-conditioned minivan for a short journey.
Your first stop is at the Rauðhólar, a cluster of red pseudocraters. Learn about volcanoes before heading to a black-sand beach, where you can take time to enjoy the open spaces and solitude.
Next, head to the picturesque volcanic crater lake Kerið (entrance fee at own expense), and then to Faxi waterfall. The mighty 2-tiered Gullfoss waterfall is the next stop.
Continue on to Strokkur geysir and watch as it spouts a fountain of water every five to eight minutes.
The final stop is Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the location of Iceland's first parliament. Here you can see the site where the North American and Eurasian continental plates are currently splitting apart.
Your tour concludes with drop-off back to downtown Reykjavik.
