Budapest Central Market Hall Walk with Tastings

Your tour begins with a visit to Budapest’s Great Market Hall, where you’ll receive a helpful overview of the Hungarian produce. Your private guide will educate you about use of the country’s renowned paprika spice, as well as local meats and vegetables. Become a quick expert on how Hungarian meals are prepared while taking note of the ingredients called for in famous dishes. After leaving the Great Market Hall, the next stop will take you through the city to the popular butchers and patisseries to sample classic delicacies like kolbasz (Hungarian sausage) and Dobos Torta, a sponge cake layered with chocolate butter cream and topped off with caramel. The delicacies provided will vary depending on the time of year that you visit. After you have some food in your stomach, you’ll travel to a local shop for the wine-tasting portion of the tour. You’ll be offered three traditional Hungarian wines as your guide reveals the history and secrets behind each variety. The tour will conclude at a wine bar just a short walk from the Great Market Hall.

Exploring Budapest through its market is an excellent way to get to know the city. The Great Market Hall is one of Europe’s largest and most spectacular indoor markets. Here you’ll get acquainted with Hungarian cuisine through a great variety and abundance of local and seasonal ingredients which are on display. Your guide will introduce the history of the building, along with the culture of food and drink and the everyday cooking and eating habits of Hungarians. Your 1,5 hour tour includes tasting of salami, pickles, some bakery products and a small dessert.

4. Unfortunately, due to the nature of our walking, bike and Segway tours, it's not possible for us to accommodate people with limited mobility.

5. Supplier reserves the right to refuse service from guests in extreme circumstances (i.e. improper conduct, disturbance of other guests, disruptive behavior, suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol/narcotics) without refund.

6. Only stated person(s) on ticket may use the ticket. Guests need to present a valid ID card or e-voucher as a supporting document should they be asked to by staff.
