How long does the Alcatraz Tour take?
You can stay on Alcatraz Island as long as you like, but allow at least 3-4 hours for the entire expereince (cruising to the Island, taking the cellhouse audio tour, exploring the rest of the Island and its historic exhibits, and returning via ferry to Pier 33). You should line up about 30 min prior to your departure time.
What are the operating hours for the buses?
The buses depart daily (except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year’s Day) from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
What is the starting point for my tour?
The Hop-On Hop-Off Tour departs from 99 Jefferson Stree (at the corner of Mason Street).The Alcatraz Island ferry leaves from Pier 33, BUT you need to be sure to already have your ticket in hand after redeeming your voucher with the provider online because NO VOUCHERS ARE EXCEPTED at Pier 33 directly.

Our office is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (subject to change as per season)
Can I go to Alcatraz Island at any time I wish?
No. You will receive a specific departure time for your ferry ride to Alcatraz Island upon redeeming your voucher with Skyline Sightseeing. The assigned departure time cannot be changed. You need to take the ferry at the given time or your ticket will be lost. Once on Alcatraz Island you are free to spend as much time as you like - ferries go back to San Francisco approx. every 30 minutes.
