Day 01 Addis Ababa - Langano
Morning pickup from the hotel and drive south of Addis Ababa to the Lake Langano, taking 4-5 hours. On the way, we will visit Lake Ziway, and the beautiful bird island home to many aquatic bird species, such as Long tailed cormorant, African darter, spoonbills etc… Continue the visit to Abijjata Shalla National Park where we can see different mammals and birds, head south and visit the two lakes and return back to Lake Langano for an overnight. Overnight Resort or Hotels.
Day 02 Langano - Arba Minch
Continue the drive passing through Hawassa and the beautiful rift valley visit a Dorze Village in the Guge Mountains. The Dorze are known for their tall, beehive-shaped bamboo houses. If the basbecomes infested with termites, the entire house can be lifted and moved to another location Overnight Hotel or Lodge in Arbaminch
Day 03 Arba Minch - Turmi
Take a boat trip on Lake Chamo and view some of the largest crocodiles in the world sunning on the banks of the lake. Hippopotami and birdlife are also abundant. Drive to Turmi passing by various peoples such as Semay derashe. Stop at Key Afar's weekly market (if on a Thursday) and wander among the various tribes such as the Benna and Ari that have gathered to barter their goods. Overnight Turmi
Day 04 Morning Excursions
Morning Drive south of Turmi to visit the Karo Tribe who are well know for their elaborateed body painting, after spending sometime here drive south to visit Nyangatom tribe who lives in three countries including Ethiopia, a very interesting place to visit the Omo River and the lower Omo valley. Return back in the afternoon Visit the colorful market in Demika (Saturday only) in the morning. In the late afternoon, we could go to nearby Hamer Village to experience exotic customs. Turmi vis known for folk activities, so we might have chance to join Hamer marriage ceremony, watch the traditional dance – Evangadi, and bull jumping ceremony. Overnight Lodge
Day 05 Turmi Morning Excursions- Jinka
Drive south of Turmi this time closer to the Kenyan border , please bring your passport in this day as the border controls might as. Visit the dassenech tribe that lives on the banks of Omo River and Lake Turkana, after spending sometime with the tribes return back to Turmi for Lunch. After Lunch Drive to Jinka, late afternoon arrival in Jinka Overnight Hotel/Resort in Jinka
Day 06 Jinka - Mago National Park
Early morning drive to the Mago National Park to visit the Mursi people. The Mursi women are known for the clay plates they insert into their lower lips. Return back to Jinka airport for afternoon departure back to Addis Ababa. Visit the National Museum, home of the 3.18 million year old skeleton "Lucy." optional souvenir shopping, in the evening Enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant featuring dancers and musicians representing some of the country's many ethnic groups. Transfer to airport for late night departure upon request.
