The 20-mile (32-km) bike tour begins in the transition zone between the Colorado and Mojave deserts. Winding through the San Andreas Fault zone, you'll pass through Box Canyon's narrow rock walls, descending to the heart of grape country near Mecca. The route descends a total of 1,200 feet (365 meters), and finishes with panoramic views of Mt. San Jacinto, the All-American Canal, the Salton Sea, and the eastern Coachella Valley. On the way back to town, stop at a date farm for date shakes and a restroom break. Paved surfaces, virtually no traffic, no turns, and no cross roads make this an relaxed and enjoyable way to see Palm Springs. Your tour concludes back at your original departure point.

This bicycle tour takes you through a protected wilderness zone running along the San Andreas Fault, to areas inaccessible by traditional tour vehicle.
