Dunn's River Catamaran Adventure

This wasn’t something I had ever thought about doing. It’s a guided climb up a waterfall from sea level to an elevation of 980 feet. It was very exhilarating! The excursion also included a sail in a catamaran and snorkeling. Saw lots of fish! It was a very fun day.

I highly recommend doing the Dunn's River Falls at least once when visiting Jamaica. The first time I went to the fall was via boat and I highly recommend going that way if it is an option. On to the review. My average rating is for the company. We booked the Dunn's River Falls, Zip Line, Party Cruise with "lunch" at Margaritaville. Day started with getting picked up from our hotel at 7:30am, driven to Chukka's place where we were to fill out waivers and able to give our "lunch" order. The drive was around 40 minutes. While we waited for over an hour (it shouldn’t take that long to signed waivers and take lunch orders), they had items you can purchase along with refreshments. We were a group of 11 people. When purchasing a few drinks, the total was $18.00 USD. They lady said she didn't have change so took the full $20.00. You have people that you are making stop there to buy stuff, and you don't have change? I didn't pay for the drinks, but it was just the principle of them ripping us off when they made us wait there that long and we did not know that stop was going to happen when we booked the tour. Finally, around 9:45AM we left there for the drive to the Dunn's River. Our bus driver was amazing! When we arrived, we got off the bus and waited for the catamaran to arrive. Once it arrived, we were advised to take all our belonging to the boat as you don't take them to climb the falls. I didn't have my phone I am guessing that we probably started lining up around 11AM to climb the falls. Some of our party zip lined. We were told to stand in two lines by our Chukka guide. We listened to her, but the gentleman that took us to the Falls told her that he wants us in one line. The two of them ended up yelling at each other with everyone staring at them. Honestly, Chukka guide had a chip on her shoulder when we arrived to sign the waivers. We had a great time climbing the falls. Those that ziplined had a great time ziplining however, they were hoping for more than 3 different lines across the falls. Once everyone got on the party boat (rum punch and red stripe) starting flowing. Boat was fun. We finally got to eat "lunch" at 3:40PM after not eating since 7AM. Non-alcoholic drinks not included. Wait staff would not bring waters if you didn’t want to buy a drink. All this to say SKIP the lunch and boat. Use a different tour operator!

The actual climb up Dunn’s river was great and we had a wonderful guide! However, Chukka was a complete mess. The check in process was completely unorganized. When we finally got to the catamaran to drop our things off, the photographers were extremely aggressive. They were also aggressive and harassing me and my friend the entire time we were on the catamaran. I witnessed the bartender be rude to other guests. It made the experience unpleasant. I will probably book a tour directly through Dunn’s river in the future.

I was highly disappointed because there were three short zip lines and when I say short, I may very short it was very disappointing, but the experience was nice for it to be in my first time zip lining

They're very punctual. Serious company, and I felt, at all times, very safe to do the tirolese. Our guide on the bus Chantal and the driver Tim very competent.
