Begin your day in Dubai with convenient 9am pickup at your hotel. Board a comfortable tour vehicle and head toward the Dubai Marina, sitting along the edge of a 2.4-mile (4-km) man-made canal. Stroll down the curved waterfront, admiring the boats of all sizes docked there. Peruse the boutiques, cafes and restaurants where the citizens of Dubai spend their leisure time. Get views of the downtown skyline and listen to your guide's commentary about the explosive development that has taken place in the Marina in the last 10 years.
Head for the Dubai Mall, one of the largest malls in the world, which includes an aquarium and underwater zoo. The aquarium is home to the world's largest acrylic panel, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
Back in the tour vehicle, continue to downtown Dubai and the city's impressive centerpiece: the Burj Khalifa. Board the elevator and feel your ears pop as you rocket toward the top of the tallest building in the world. From the 124th floor, get views of the city and the desert stretching out as far as your eye can see.
The day's final activity is a desert safari. Journey out over the countless golden sand dunes to a desert camp, from which you will watch the multicolored sunset.
When you reach the camp, enjoy a short camel ride and try out traditional henna body art. Watch an Arabic belly dance show and a delicious dinner with barbecue buffet, accompanied by soft drinks, water, coffee or tea.
Your day tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel around 9pm.
