Your tour begins outside of Warsaw’s Palace of Culture and Science at 10:30am, when you’ll greet your guide and board a retro-style bus destined for the infamous Praga district.
During the short journey over the Vistula River, your guide provides a historical introduction to the district, formerly an independent metropolis. Stop first at a 19th-century chocolate factory to sample a cup of hot chocolate and then learn about the radical transformation of the Kamionek neighborhood as you explore its hip bars and cafes.
The next stops are the streets of Brzeska and Stalowa, replete with colorful murals depicting Poland’s history and political climate. See, too, the former black market of Różycki’s Bazaar, where customers could buy forged documents, and visit a former vodka factory.
Finally, learn about the mysteries behind an area known as the Praga Bermuda Triangle, full of scenic courtyards and pre-war architecture. From here, you’ll return to your original departure point at the Palace of Culture and Science.
