When your cruise ship docks in St. Kitts, disembark and meet your tour guide at the entrance to the port. Begin your tour in the capital city of Basseterre. Stop at Independence Square, the former center of the slave trade on these West Indian Islands. Situated among well-preserved examples of both French and English architecture, this slave market has been repurposed as a beautiful garden planted with native species of flora. Pay a visit to Romney Manor, home of the Caribelle Batik factory (admission not included). Spend time looking around the factory on your own. Watch local artisans dye sea cotton to serve as the backdrop for traditional batik paintings. The store on site sells the beautiful fabric, as well as other native handicrafts. Take in the views at Timothy Hill where you can see the merging of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Then enjoy free time to swim and relax at Carambola Beach Club before heading back to your cruise ship at the end of your tour.
