This walking tour takes you into the heart of the Bogside,see the site of the Bloody Sunday massacre, learn about all the important events, Civil Rights Association, Battle of the Bogside, Interment, The Free Derry Story,and the Peace Process.All of our guides are locals who lived through the conflict. One of our guides was also one off the co founders of the Bloody Sunday justice Campaign that inspired the second Bloody Sunday Inquiry that began in 1998.You won't be disappointed in choosing this walking tour.You can choose the time and date when you want to do this walking tour.We also provide a private car that seats four passengers incase of poor weather. This walking tour will start and finish outside the " Museum of Free Derry "in Glenfada Park in the Bogside.

Great tour of the Bogside area in Derry

An excellent tour of the Bogside area and Bloody Sunday, talking through the troubles their in the late 60s / 70s with a very local guide, who had first hand knowledge.

The Troubles - Bogside walking tour

Michael was a great tour guide with a locals perspective growing up in these very streets as a child. Told the stories which were well balanced considering his life experiences. Was open about tours from other side of the fence and understanding of that perspective. Highly recommend if you visit Derry. Also recommend pack a raincoat.

Sad and Wonderful History Lesson

Better than I ever imagined. What a history lesson that many have never heard of and some have forgotten. John did a fantastic job telling the story of Bloody Sunday and loss of his own brother. Tragic and haunting. The families have done a tremedous job in keeping their loved ones memories and the horrors of government alive. You should definitely book a tour with John McKinney

Impactful, fascinating experience. The personal stories were devastating, but so important to be told. I recommend visiting the museum prior, for a broader historical context, and highly recommend this tour.
