Embark on a bumpy ride in the Alaskan backcountry on this 3.5-hour 4-wheel safari truck adventure in Denali National Park. After hotel pickup, head to the park entrance to meet your driver-guide.
Your destination: the Stampede Trail. This forgotten road, not shown on most maps even today, was carved out of the wilderness by the miners of the Kantishna region who sought gold. This is the very same trail that Christopher McCandless, of Jon Krakauer’s Into the Wild, took to enter the wilds of Alaska.
The Stampede Road begins paved but turns into a primitive, muddy trail after just a few miles. On a clear day, you might just see Denali (formerly Mt McKinley). With the help of your guide, keep watch for caribou, moose, bears, and foxes.
Stop along the way at points of interest and to explore the open tundra. Enjoy a hearty Alaskan snack before winding your way back to civilization with memorable stories and photos to share.
