Day Trip to Pompeii Ruins & Mt. Vesuvius Volcano from Naples

The morning starts with a pickup from central Sorrento location. Travel in an air-conditioned coach and make the journey inland to Pompeii.

Lying at the feet of Vesuvius, Pompeii is one of Italy’s largest and best-preserved ancient ruins. Explore the excavated city with its baths and villas on a guided tour. Walk cobbled streets thousands of years old, and see frescos that have survived for centuries.

Afterward, head to Vesuvius, where you drive to an altitude of 3,280 feet (1,000 meters). Spend your free time exploring the crater, or opt for a tour with a mountain guide (own expense).

Then, return to Sorrento with your group, and finish with a drop-off at your original departure point.
