Well executed tour
Our tour of the Cu Chi tunnels with Mr. Fa was a great start to our trip to HCMC. The transportation was comfortable, well air conditioned and was a nice way to travel the two and a half hours each way. Our guide Mr. Fa was a highlight. He is highly knowledgeable and personable and made sure that we had an amazing experience and got the most out of the tour. The small group size was ideal for this particular tour. Highly recommended!
Great investment for building memories.
Mr Tuan (our guide) is a Veteran of the Vietnam/American War and had so much additional knowledge and enthusiasm for sharing the real history. He was there, he's seen it all. We learned a lot, it's great value for money, and the whole process was very smooth. Got picked up from my hotel and taken to the location (1.5h drive), with a brief break to survey some art made by people affected by Agent Orange (defoliation chemical dropped from planes to remove the trees). Spent some time going through tunnels, saw the traps, and learned the structures and survival objectives that promoted the creation of the tunnels too. The location was busy but not packed. It's more designed for small groups interested in learning niche history than an overstuffed tourist trap. If you're a history buff, like tunnels, like traps, like learning, want something cool to do, have a day off, want to build memories or personal lore, 10/10 go do it, you'll be pleased you made the decision. All in all, very cool, great time, and got given a cold beer/fizzy bev at the end.
Great tour - TUAN is the best tour guide you can get
We really had a great tour there Our tour guide TUAN really made the difference. He is a man of a kind and he was fighting the Viet Cong for eight years side-by-side with the American G.I. so he can give you a real first hand impression of the time back then
A soldiers perspective.
Wowzers! This was less of a typical tour and more of walking autobiography of a soldier who fought in South Vietnam for eight years as a company commander with the ARVN. Tuan made the whole trip a captivating history lesson sharing his stories with our small group. His narration provided insights only a soldier could convey and always with humility and humour despite the shocking reality of the war. Highly recommend this tour.
