Begin with a tour of the estate and oil mill. Hear about the history of the family-owned farm and about the innovative cultivation techniques used for the 98 acres (40 hectares) of olive trees. Your tour includes a tasting of extra virgin olive oil with Giuseppe.
After the olive oil tasting, take a cooking class with Silvia that shows you how to prepare a typical Sicilian lunch. Learn the steps to making favorite recipes such as pasta con le sarde (pasta with sardines), anelletti al forno (baked rings pasta), polpettone (Italian meatloaf), stir-fry dishes, and desserts with almonds or sweet ricotta cheese.
At the end of the cooking class, sit down to a meal of the dishes you helped to create, accompanied with tastings of local wines. At the end of your tour, make your own way to your next destination.
