Cook & Eat with Bosnian Family
Why take this tour?
Experience life of local people in Sarajevo by cooking and dining with them. A local family will host you in their lovely home and welcomed with a glass of rakija. A gastro-cultural journey will continue with learning how to make traditional Bosnian pita and stuffed vegetables. Along with the cooking, you will have a chance to learn how it looks to live and work in Sarajevo nowadays but also how it was during the Yugoslavia times. Chat and cooking will be followed with a good wine from Herzegovina, Kupres and Livno cheese and prosciutto from Trebinje. Balkantina is the unique gastro-cultural agency and tour operator launched in 2016 in Sarajevo by the small team of foodies that wanted to reveal and share the hidden culinary and cultural treasures in the off-the-beaten-path areas of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the whole Balkan region. There is one thing we are the most passionate about, and which every person needs on holiday: food! Besides learning about the history, culture, architecture during our events, city tours, day trips and multi-country trips we at Balkantina designed the offerings to let our guests taste local gastronomy and learn how to cook local dishes. Balkantina also operates Gourmet Shop, the first place of this kind in Sarajevo, which offers a unique selection of local delicacies - superB wine, brandy, fine cheese, truffle products and fresh truffles, prosciutto, eco jams and much more. At the Shop you will also find perfect gift bundles so you can bring a taste of the Balkans back home!
