The Garajonay National Park was declared a World Heritage Site in 1986, highest recognition of a protected area. Vimotions offers you this incredible route of Garajonay National Park and Guarimiar, a ravine in the south of the island of La Gomera. You will be amazed to see the landscape and the varied flora and fauna in its forest.
The hiking route is divided into 2 sections. The first is a botanical route that will allow you to discover and understand the exceptional character of the laurel forest, which will last 1 and a half hours and have an altitude of +/-150m. At the second section, you will travel through one of the most spectacular canyons on the island, where you will learn about the geology and how the islanders adapted to live in this rugged terrain (the typical Gomeran whistle, terraces, water pipes). This section also has a duration of 1 hour and a half, with an altitude of +/-200m. So the route has a total duration of 3 hours hiking. In total with transfers and breaks it takes between 6 and 7 hours.
