Meet your guide at a downtown Portland bike shop and board a van for your morning or afternoon half-day trip to the magnificent Columbia River Gorge.
After a 45-minute drive to the Oregon-Washington border and the country's oldest National Scenic Highway, you’ll start your ride. The 10-mile (16-km) guided peddle will take you along gentle hills of evergreen forests on the Gorge’s National Scenic Highway, the country’s first.
The guide will lead your small group, which will stop along the way for snacks and leisurely hikes to the Gorge’s celebrated waterfalls, where can wade in their refreshing water and snap photos of their spray. Look for birds of prey, including the national emblem of the United States, the bald eagle.
Your 5-hour tour will return you to Portland at lunch or dinner time, depending on your trip.
