Columbia Icefield Adventure with Glacier Skywalk

Nolan and Gerald tag teamed telling us about the culture, sites and activities we would be doing. They made a great team. Peyto Lake was beautiful first thing in the morning. We learned how glaciers help produce the vivid blue in the lakes around them. Next we went to the Skywalk which provided great views of glaciers, waterfalls and the rugged terrain below that mountain goats and big horn sheep frequent. It was great being on the bus because buses park right next to the entrance while car riders must be transported to the site. We walked right in and had our bus waiting for us once we we done. The buffet style lunch had a great variety of food and was extremely well organized to handle busloads of people. The photography in the visitor Center below was exceptional. We then were driven to the ice explorer which took us straight out o to the glacier. The views were breathtaking. We had plenty of time to walk around in safe zones and get all the pictures we wanted. As a bonus, we even saw a large black bear along the road on our way home and paused for a brief moment for photos out the window. Again, being on the tour bus allowed us to see more because of the up front parking passenger buses are given at all the sites. Well worth the tour.

An informative, fun and a great trip! We were on the Ice field Discovery Tour on Monday, 7th Sept, with driver Brad and guide Aaron. What a jam packed day it was too. Both Brad and Aaron were fantastic hosts, really knowledgeable, and had great humour, which made for a fantastic trip. As we had ample time we also got to visit various other stops along the way. Including some time at Lake Louise whilst picking up some additional passengers, Lake Peyto and Waterfallow Lake. The trip included the Skywalk which was rather scary but so pleased I did it. Before heading out onto the icefield we had a hot buffet lunch which was excellent. The icefield is really something special, the glacier is fascinating, the icefield guide (Chris) was again very knowledgable, and we had about 30 minutes up there, so plenty of time to walk around (watch out for the caution signs re holes in the ice!) and to take pictures. Ps. The coffee/water and cookie stop en route was a nice touch. A very welcoming refreshment. Thanks both for making it such a fun trip!

Fab trip from lake Louise to jasper. Driver Richard is fantastic. Level of knowledge is off the charts. Host Talli was fantastic and the snack station she set up at the last stop was a great bonus. Can’t recommend highly enough

We had a fantastic day on the Columbia Icefield Tour with Brewster! Brad and Aaron were both wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, and great at keeping the day running smoothly. While they weren’t locals, they clearly knew the area extremely well and shared plenty of interesting information along the way. The tour itself was very well organized and truly included everything we needed for a full day of exploring. Water, snacks, and lunch were all provided, which made the experience incredibly easy and convenient. The itinerary was packed with spectacular scenery and, of course, experiencing the Columbia Icefield and Glacier Skywalk was unforgettable. Even though it’s a long day, everything was paced well and we never felt like we had to worry about logistics. We could simply sit back, enjoy the incredible views, and experience the Icefields Parkway. Brad and Aaron helped make an already beautiful day even better. If you’re visiting Banff and want to experience the Columbia Icefield without worrying about driving, parking, meals, or planning all the details yourself, this tour is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!
