The day begins with an early morning pickup at your Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya hotel. From here, you’re off to Coba, once a bustling center of commerce and public life for the Mayans. Home to Nohoch Mul—the tallest pyramid on the Yucatán Peninsula—Coba is rich with history, which your guides shares with you. Next, take a dip in a refreshing cenote, a natural sinkhole in the earth with stalactites formed over hundreds of years.
Head to Tulum to see more ruins, this time on the edge of a dramatic cliff with the turquoise sea lapping below. Once home to nobility in ancient Mayan times, learn more about Mayan history, the Spanish conquest of the city, and what happened to its inhabitants.
Your final stop is Playa Paraiso (Paradise Beach), and once you see it you know why. The calm waters are perfect for lounging, snorkeling, or simply enjoying a beverage on the beach while you admire the ruins above.
After a full day of adventure, board the air-conditioned minivan for the trip back to Playa del Carmen.
