City Highlights & Sunset Tour

Visited this beautifully restored House and Garden. Approached from the Carrick side and noted lack of road signage until one was nearly there, for what is a very significant tourist location. The walled garden which is still being restored is one of the highlights, beautiful and good seating on a very warm day. Restaurant and gift shop in the main house food good I had a large sausage roll on a bed of lettuce. The lettuce would you believe was the highlight tasted like lettuce tasted years ago, clearly grown on site in the walled kitchen garden. Restaurant is bright and staff are attentive and enthusiastic. Gift shop on the expensive side. Various walks through the gardens with some magnificent old trees. All in all a beautiful place to visit. Beware main car park is a bit of a hike to the house .

I was disappointed by the current condition of Congreve Gardens. A lot of areas are under restoration or even cordoned off. While I appreciate that maintenance and restoration are necessary, the extent of the work had a noticeable impact on the overall experience. The walled garden, in particular, appeared to be in poor condition, with many sections looking neglected. There were also widespread weeding issues, which detracted from what is otherwise a beautiful setting. My main concern is that management should be more transparent about the current state of the gardens before visitors book. If large sections are under restoration and the gardens are not being presented at their usual standard, this should be clearly communicated in advance so people can make an informed decision about whether to visit.

We stayed overnight in the beautiful Courtyard suite which gave us after hours a cess to the wonderful gardens on the evening of our arrival and access again on the morning of our departure. We had a wonderful time. The staff in every part of the estate are friendly and helpful and efficient. The food in the Stables restaurant is superb and so fresh and the Foxford shop is a great temptation! 10 out of 10 for a fabulous mini break. Thanks Mount Congreve. Take a bow

My family and I had the most wonderful weekend at Mount Congreve. We stayed at the Rowan Gate Lodge with our baby daughter and our dog. The gate lodge is so beautifully refurbished and has everything you need for a home away from home. It was so quiet and peaceful, it rained a lot during our stay which only added to the magic. The after hours access to the gardens was my favourite, we were the only ones in there at the time and it honestly felt like we were in a movie. We ate at the Stables cafe during our stay and really enjoyed our meals there. The staff we met during our stay were so lovely. We are already dreaming about our next stay. Thank you for everything!
