Get picked up from your Cusco hotel in the morning and drive to the Quillarumiyoc Inca site. You’ll explore this ancient area’s collection of terraces and altars with your guide, learning about its important role in the Inca cults of the moon and the fertility of “Pacha Mama.”
Proceed from there to Tarawasi, and another sacred Inca site known for its collection of more than 24 trapezoid-shaped niches and terraces arranged to appear like flower petals. Then leave these two Inca sites behind and head into Limatambo Valley, stopping to enjoy a typical lunch and learn about the Huaychaou people.
Then head to the town of Chonta, situated at an elevation of 11,100 feet (3,400 meters) near the Apurimac Canyon. You’ll have plenty of time to observe the graceful Andean condors that are known to hang out in the area, then return back to Cusco, arriving back at your hotel in the early evening.
