Booked tickets for us both as we were in area for short break, arriving at the stop and waiting over 30mins to find out no tours on a Monday. Not mentioned on the website. Now requesting full refund, called city sightseeing to be told email in details, not heard back yet only been a day in fairness.
Sold tickets for a day service doesn’t operate!
We reserved our tickets several weeks before our visit to Chester, and a few days before received confirmation that the tickets had been paid for. When we arrived in Chester today to enjoy our bus tour, we discovered that the service doesn’t operate on Mondays in September. The automated booking system had sold us 4 tickets for a day that there is no service! I have tried to complain and request a refund to both Trip Advisor and via the operator, and I can’t find a way to do this.
Buyer Beware
Beware of booking with VIATOR, I booked for the Hop on Hop off bus in Chester for 7 September, after travelling over an hour to get to Chester waited another hour but no bus turned up. Contacted City Sightseeing to be told he buses are suspended on Mondays throughout September. I booked with Viator on 6 September, only the day before, I believe Viator should have known but they took my money and are refusing a refund.
Best way to see Chester in one day!
This was one of the best investments on our recent trip. The tour stops were great and the commentary was very informative. We were able to hop on and off at several very convenient places of interest and then easily resume our trip. Chester is a beautiful and historic city and this is the best way to see it!

Very interesting stories on the loudspeaker, clear and easily understood. The drivers are impressive, their driving skills are superb. For £8 (we're OAP's) this was a perfect way to see the sights, at a very reasonable cost. We WILL be back and we WILL have another go round as we haven't seen enough.
