One of the Kathmandu Valley’s newest attractions is the Chandragiri Cable Car. This modern cable car rises to the top of the sacred Chandragiri Hill so the faithful can go and worship at the Hindu temple at the summit. Chandragiri rises to an elevation of 2,551 meters (8,369 ft.). The ride up takes you from the village of Chandragiri over the forests that cover the hill. The short 2 ½ km trip takes around 10 – 12 minutes to reach the top. From there, the views of the snow capped peaks of the mighty Himalayas lay before you in an incredible vista. These snow capped peaks touch the brilliantly blue Himalayan skies as you gaze in awe.
