It is named so, as during winters, the Zanskar river freezes due to sparse direct sunlight and dropping temperatures (between minus 15 to 20 during the day and minus 25-35 during the night) and the view gives the perception of a white blanket of ice.The Chadar Trek is said to be one of the five most adventurous treks in the world.
