This tour begins right outside the Independence Visitor Center, located just steps from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. On this outing, you won’t just see many of Old City’s most famous landmarks—you’ll also learn the unconventional ghost stories and legends of serial killers that are written into the city’s history.
As you go, discover some of Philadelphia's most popular landmarks, including the Betsy Ross House and Elfreth’s Alley (the oldest residential street in the country). The tour also includes admission to Christ Church—which was founded in 1695, and which counted George Washington and Benjamin Franklin among its parishioners—and its adjacent Burial Ground.
As you spot the gravestones belonging to various Founding Fathers, your guide (a trained historian or college professor) will also share stories about the city's history as well as the insalubrious characters that once haunted its streets.
At the conclusion of the tour, stop for a beverage or sample of moonshine in the neighborhood.
