Find out all about the sacred pact of fraternity as you learn about the story in front of the bay of Bastidas. Carlos' voice will lead you to the Plaza de Bolivar, where you will discover one of the local tragedies that was featured in "One Hundred Years of Solitude" from Gabriel Garcia Marquez Nobel Prize winning book. You will get to admire the monuments in the plaza and discover the stories behind the last days of the Libertador Bolivar, who arrived in the city in his final days. You will discover the local culture, the history of the forts, the San Franciscan parish, the cathedral, and how the city was sacked 17 times by pirates. Carlos will finish the tour telling you some of the local legends of the notorious inhabitants of downtown St. Marta, such as Madame Augustine.
