Depending on the tour option selected, your guide will pick you up from your hotel at either 9am or 2.30pm. If you’ve chosen the full-day tour, spend your morning exploring the UNESCO-listed temples of Angkor with your private guide (Angkor entrance fees not included) and marvel at the magnificent ruins of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom or Ta Prohm.
In the afternoon, set out on an art discovery tour, starting with a visit to the Artisans d' Angkor workshops. Stroll around the artisan shops and workshops, and learn more about traditional crafts as you watch demonstrations of lacquer painting, stone carving, silver jewelry making and more. Learn about the different methods used and how to determine quality from your guide, and perhaps choose to purchase some handmade souvenirs.
Next, visit a local silk farm and uncover the secrets of silk production as you stroll around the mulberry plantation, learn about silkworm farming and watch traditional techniques like cocoon unwinding, ikat dying and silk weaving. After admiring the beautiful silks on display, continue to a contemporary art gallery, where you’ll be introduced to a Cambodian artist known for his modern designs and lacquering techniques. Enjoy a tour of the atelier, take a peek at the artist’s private art collection and learn more about the fusion of traditional and modern Khmer art.
Finish your evening with a delicious 4-course dinner of typical Khmer cuisine, served in an intimate garden pavilion at a 5-star location. In-between courses, enjoy dazzling performances of traditional Apsara dance, and learn more about the historic dance, which dates back to Angkorian times.
After an unforgettable night, your tour finishes around 9.30pm, after which you’ll be dropped back at your hotel.
Please note: There will be opportunities to purchase original artwork, handicrafts and souvenirs at each location, but there is no obligation to buy.
